Josh Allen’s ESPN snub
Despite all that, ESPN’s Mike Clay left Josh Allen off his predicted list of the top ten pass-yardage leaders for the 2025 season. He has Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow leading the stats with a predicted 4,111 passing yards.
The Bills have a favorable schedule on their side in 2025, which consequentially works in Allen’s favor as well. Still, Clay may be looking at last year’s stats to help him with his estimates. Last year, Allen finished the season with 3,731 passing yards – 14th in the league. However, that marked the first time Allen finished with under 4,000 yards since 2020. Burrow led the league in 2024 with 4,918.
In his projections for 2025, Clay has Allen finishing with just 3,504 yards – 233 yards less than 2024. Here’s how he predicted the top 10 passing-yard leaders for the upcoming season:
- Joe Burrow (Bengals): 4,111
- Brock Purdy (49ers): 4,093
- Backfalls (Dolphins): 4,068
- Matthew Stafford (Rams): 3,935
- Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs): 3,903
- C.J. Stroud (Texans): 3,885
- Dak Prescott (Cowboys): 3,846
- Geno Smith (Raiders): 3,809
- Jared Goff (Lions): 3,791
- Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars): 3,774
