New York Times casually drops Bill Belichick engagement bomb

At 73 years old, legendary NFL coach Bill Belichick is grabbing headlines, not for his new role as coach at UNC, but for his girlfriend Jordan Hudsona former college cheerleader turned influencer who’s nearly 50 years younger than him.

A recent article by Katherine Rosman of the New York Times took a look at their unconventional romance and discussed the fact that Hudson has taken over Belichick’s personal brand. But she also just casually dropped a bomb in the middle of it all.

Bill Belichick and Jordan Hudson engaged?

In the article, Roseman mentions that “Ms. Hudson has told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married.”

Roseman wrote about the fact that Hudson has taken center stage in their relationshipaccompanying Belichick to public events, taking control of his personal brand, and actively promoting the relationship on social media. She even tried to trademark some of the former Patriots coach’s iconic catchphrases and reportedly derailed an HBO docuseries about him by demanding to have creative control.

And in the midst of it all, by the way, they’re potentially engaged to be married.

“Ms. Hudson has taken control of the management of his personal brand and used her new status to her own audacious advantage,” Roseman wrote. “She has torpedoed an HBO series and attempted to trademark Mr. Belichick’s famous catchphrases. On social media, she has posted a steady stream of photos highlighting their romance. She has hobnobbed with celebrities, promoted political causes and somehow amassed a real estate portfolio worth more than $8 million — all to the bewilderment of the coach’s fans and those close to him, many of whom consider her a distraction or worse. And Ms. Hudson has told at least one person that she and Mr. Belichick are engaged to be married. At a moment when the world is contending with issues of worrisome consequence, the romantic saga of a famously grumpy N.F.L. coach and a recent college cheerleader is catnip for much of the public and, let’s be honest, reporters too.”

Neither Belichick nor Hudson has made a public announcement of their engagementbut more is sure to come out soon with the media obsession over this unusual (personal and professional) relationship.
