Pat McAfee is doing a live show called “Big Night AHT with Pat McAfee and Friends” on Wednesday night from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. The live stream will be broadcast on multiple social media platforms and the former ESPN analyst has been advertising it for months, teasing that it will be different than his typical show.

The show will feature the same co-hosts as always, but will bring on special guests and interactive elements like singalongs. McAfee has not announced the list of guests, but there has been much speculation that NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers could be one of them. And seeing as they’re in Pittsburgh and the Steelers have been hoping to close a deal with Rodgers, rumors have been swirling about a potential announcement on McAfee’s show.
McAfee sets the record straight on Rodgers on his show
McAfee has put those rumors to rest. During an appearance on Ben Roethlisberger’s podcast “Footballin”, McAfee said that Rodgers will not announce he’s signing with the Steelers as a part of his show.
“There’s going to be a lot of big surprises at Big Night AHT,” said McAfee. “Aaron Rodgers is not on the docket. So, I would like everybody to know that, because I think the show has so many like real moments that are gonna be coming and I think there’s a chance people afterwards go: ‘Freaking didn’t see Aaron Rogers out there. What?’ I have not talked to Aaron Rodgers.”
“To be clear, I think it would be a very positive reaction at that particular show if it was announcedbut, see also, I haven’t talked to Aaron in weeks, months at this point.”
Rodgers had the Minnesota Vikings at the top of his list of future teams, but they’ve said they won’t pursue him after keeping J.J. McCarthy on at quarterback. Since then, the Steelers have been pursuing Rodgers and offered him a deal, but Rodgers may be waiting it out to see if the Vikings change their mind after the draft or maybe even training camp. But for now, it looks like his options are either the Steelers or retirement.
