The NFL legend was reportedly involved in a fight with several other attendees at the event. AP reports that footage shared online purports to show Brown holding a pistol while chasing after someone. No injuries have been reported.
Shots could be heard in the video and the venue’s ShotSpotter gunshot-detection system was activated. Miami police arrived at the scene shortly after 3am and Brown was initially detained in relation with the incident.

Subsequent footage showed Brown being escorted from the building by a police officerhis hands behind his back. Soon afterwards he posted a statement on social media in which he attempted to give his side of the story.
He wrote that he had been “jumped by multiple individuals who tried to steal my jewelry and cause physical harm to me.”
“Police temporarily detained me until they received my side of the story and then released me. I WENT HOME THAT NIGHT AND WAS NOT ARRESTED,” Brown added.
In the statement Brown made no reference to the gunshots heard or claims of a firearm.
This is not Brown’s first run-in with the law, including a number of domestic incidents during his time living in Florida. In 2020 he pleaded no contest to charges of felony battery and burglary.
In 2023 he was hit with an arrest warrant for failing to make the agreed child support payments. That was one of a number of times that he has been accused of missing those payments. Last year he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, revealing that he owed $2.93 million to eight different creditors. His total assets were listed as $50,000 or less.
