Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, and a viral bidding war that had everyone laughing

On Thursday, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce attended The Patrick Mahomes 15 and the Mahomies Foundation Vegas Golf Classic alongside the quarterback and his wife, Brittany.

15 and the Mahomies is a foundation, founded by Mahomes, that helps improve children’s lives through health and wellness. During the event, there was an auction, and Kelce went viral for an item he decided to bid on.

Kelce backs out of Swift gift at Vegas auction

One of the items available at the auction was a Taylor Swift-signed guitar themed around her last album, The Tortured Poets Department. Swift personally donated the guitar to benefit Mahomes’ foundation.

Of course, Kelce had to put a bid on his girlfriend’s guitar. Instagram user Lauren by posted a video of the bid that quickly went viral. The bidding went from $10,000 to $15,000 before Kelce bowed out and told the audience he just remembered something.

“I just realized I have that already,” he joked, which caused the crowd to erupt into laughter.

Whether Kelce was trying to up the bidding price to earn more money for the charity, or was just having some fun – fans were eating up the moment with comments like “cute as heck” and “He’s flexing, I’m so jealous of him”.

Swift and Kelce have been spending time together under the radar since the NFL offseason and end of her Eras Tour, but were spotted together in Philadephia on Mother’s Day. The two are both up for Kids’ Choice Awards this summer as they gear up for another upcoming busy season.
