During the NFL Draft last month, the league very awkwardly announced that they will announce the 2025 schedule release on Wednesday, May 14. That much-anticipated day is now nearly upon us. But for as exciting as it is, there’s actually a lot we already know about the 2025 schedule.
We know the hosts for the international and holiday games as well as the opponents for each team. What we’ll find out tomorrow is when those teams will play each other. But with that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the most intriguing games of the 2025 season.

10. Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders
The Bears’ game against the Commanders was the beginning of a nine-game losing streak, and it wasn’t a pretty ending for them either. For the Commanders, however, it was a miracle ending. Jayden Daniels led Washington to a comeback win with a Hail Mary touchdown pass as the clock wound down to zero. This year, the Bears will be back with a vengeance when they head to Washington.
9. Cincinnati Bengals at Buffalo Bills
This is an AFC matchup that’s always worth watching when Joe Burrow and Josh Allen are under center. Although it’s been a few years since the Bengals made the postseason, they still boast one of the best offenses in the league – along with the Bills. It’ll be a showdown you don’t want to miss.
8. Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs
This is a must-watch matchup by two of the best teams in the league. Last year, both the Chiefs and Lions ended the season at 15-2, the Chiefs atop the AFC and the Lions atop the NFC.
7. Philadelphia Eagles at Buffalo Bills
Will Josh Allen finally beat the Eagles? He’s yet to do so in the regular season. And the last time he and Jalen Hurts faced off was in November 2023, when Hurts ran in the game-winning touchdown in overtime. These are two high-powered teams and it could be potential Super Bowl LX preview.
6. Detroit Lions at Washington Commanders
There are a few teams with a bone to pick with Washington and the Lions are one of them. They’ll no doubt be out for blood after the Commanders upset them in the Divisional Round of the playoffs last season.
5. Detroit Lions at Philadelphia Eagles
Two of the best NFC teams will meet in Philadelphia this season, and it’ll be the first time they play each other since 2022. We were robbed of this matchup last season after the Commanders swooped in and took the Lions’ NFC Championship chances, and the Eagles went on to win the Super Bowl.
4. Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs
Two of the best quarterbacks in the NFL will face off this season for the first time since their Week 1 game last year. In that game, the Ravens lost after the refs overturned their game-tying touchdown at the final play oft he game. This is must-see TV.
3. Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen vs Lamar Jackson. That never disappoints. And this year, there will be bitter memories for the Ravens after last season’s loss in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. That was a game that was close to the very end, when Ravens tight end Mark Andrews dropped a 2-point conversion to give the Bills the 27-25 win. And Jackson went on to lose the NFL MVP award to Allen.
2. Kansas City Chiefs at Buffalo Bills
Josh Allen seems to be somewhat of an Achilles heel for Patrick Mahomes…in the regular season. In the playoffs, however, it’s the opposite. Allen is 4-1 against Mahomes in the regular season – the only QB to have beaten him as many times – but in the postseason, he’s 0-3. This game is a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship gameand as the Bills-Chiefs have become the most heated rivalry in the league by now, it’s definitely a must-watch.
1. Philadelphia Eagles at Kansas City Chiefs
Obviously, this one will be a must-see as it will be a Super Bowl rematchnot only of last year’s Super Bowl, but of 2022’s Super Bowl as well. Having met twice in the championship game in the last three years (and now 1-1), the Eagles and Chiefs have become a bit of a rivalry. The Eagles had the last victory in a blowout win over the Chiefs for the Lombardi Trophy. This is a revenge game you won’t want to miss.
