The Mönchengladbach Danish striker, Allan Simonsen (D), fails his header attempt against the Argentine goalkeeper. On August 1, 1978, the German soccer runner-up, Borussia Mönchengladbach, lost the second leg of the Intercontinental Cup against Boca Juniors by 3-0 at the Wildparkstadion of Karlsruhe. The Argentine team got the Cup since in the first leg, the Mönchengladbach only achieved a 2-2 draw in the Argentine capital.
