Keylor Navas He heads the list of Costa Rica summoned for the friendly of May 28 against Catalonia at the Johan Cruyff stadium in Sant Joan Despí, which confirms the return to his selection after a year of having been separated.

A retired year
Navas, 38 years old and goalkeeper from the Newell's Old Boys Argentine, retired as an international in May 2024, but after a conversation with the coach, his return has been confirmed.
The goalkeeper is considered by many as the best footballer in the history of Costa Rica. He played the World Cups of Brazil 2014, Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022, and during his career he accumulates 114 matches with the National Team, to which numerous titles are added at club level, including three consecutive Champions League with Real Madrid.
Navas will travel to Barcelona from Argentina to join the National Team and participate on May 27 in the only training planned before the friendly.
Eight 'foreigners'
The goalkeeper of Pía Portugués was also summoned for this match, Patrick Sequeira, who assumed the ownership of Costa Rica during the absence of Navas.

In total there are eight players who play in international leagues and 14 of the Costa Rican. They were not called heredian players and Alajuelense, as these clubs are playing the final of the local tournament.
A party with a precedent
The friendly will be played on May 28 at the Johan Cruyff stadium, as part of the celebrations for the 125th anniversary of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF).
This will be the second time that both teams face. The first was on May 24, 2006 with Catalan Victoria 2-0, in a match played at the Terrassa Stadi and that served Costa Rica as part of its preparation for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
