Although most likely they refuse to declare, this Friday, May 23, starting at 9:30 am, they are summoned to give a statement as investigated, in the Court of Instruction 2 of Sabadell, in the case for the alleged mass falsification of notarial records in the last elections to the presidency of the Catalan Football Federation (FCF), the following executives and workers of the FCF: Soteras Vigo (President) Güell (manager), Álvaro Montoliu (Communication Advisor), José Miguel Calle (General Director), Alberto Prieto (Chief of Cabinet and President of the FC Santfeliuenc), Alejandro Guerrero (Secretary of Football Sala), Sergi Garrido (Legal Advisor), Jesús Manchado Lozano (responsible for HR) and Jesús Manchado Villena (Shopping Chief). Thus, the investigation enters a key phase.
The appearance occurs at a particularly tense moment, since all Catalan football is waiting for the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia to rule on the legality of the last electoral process because the other candidate, Juanjo Isern, challenged the proclamation of soteras.
Although the Sabadell Court itself has issued an interlocutory of inhibition in favor of the Court of Instruction No. 11 of Barcelona -to consider that the facts would have been consummated mainly at the headquarters of the FCF (on Sicília Street in Barcelona) -, the statements are not suspended. The magistrate, in her order of inhibition, recalls that in the cause possible crimes of falsehood in private document (art. 395 CP), falsehood in public document (art. 392 cp) and unfair administration (art. 252 CP) are investigated, all allegedly committed in an agreed manner by the investigated. The summary also indicates that the operation would have been organized from within the federative structure itself, using human and material resources of the entity for the benefit of a single candidacy.
Soteras, missing
The great unknown is whether or not soteras will appear in court. The last days has had outstanding absences (delivery of the League Cup to FC Barcelona, presentation of the selected matches or a meeting with clubs in the East Vallès) and the FCF has been responsible for recording on its official website that this is due to “to health problems”
