For Miguel Borja there is no going back in River Plate, a club with which he won a League, a Super Cup and a champions trophy, but failed to make enough difference at the continental level, as expected from a former king of America.
The 32 -year -old striker arrives at a key moment of his career, one in which he must decide whether to continue insisting, despite the criticisms of a part of the fans, or pass the page and face a change of airs.
Of the illusion to disenchantment
For Borja the landing at River Plate was one of the most important challenges of his career, after a brilliant step through Junior of Barranquilla. The Argentine club, which paid about 7 million dollars for its services, also felt that it made the quality leap.

That is why we talk today, in Argentina and Colombia, an imminent closure of chapter for him and for River Plate.
The Cordoba is facing an unappealable reality: at this time of his career he is to exploit by force of a continuity that he does not have and already has a clear idea that he will not succeed in this new Gallardo era. In fact, as Footballred was confirmed, there is no approach thinking about a contract renewal, not even to try to rescue something that was invested in the mid -2022.

But his football is there and the Colombia National Team, one year after the next World Cup, is not much less discharged. He knows that for that he needs to return to his good streaks and, if for that he needs to get away from River Plate, so it is.
