“I don't like it and it is not normal for Betis to have 48 hours more rest”

Enzo MarescaTechnician of the Chelseahe assured that he does not like that the Real Betis It will have 48 hours more rest than them and that something like this should not happen in a European final. The Italian coach attended the media in the 'Media Day' before the final of the Conference League that will be played in Belgravia (Poland), on May 28.

“I don't like it, you can't give 48 more rest to another team,” Maresca said when asked about the circumstance that Betis plays Friday before the final and Chelsea on Sunday, due to the unified day of the Premier League. “Or that they play on Sunday,” he replied when questioned about whether they should have played against Nottingham Forest on Friday. “It's not normal, I don't know if the League, Premier or UEFA has decided, but I think we can all agree that it is not normal.”

On the final, Maresca influenced his good relationship with Manuel Pellegrini, with which he coincided in Malaga and the West Ham United. “It's special, it's a reference for me. I spent four years with Manuel. A great human being is a great person, for me it is like my father in football. We are in contact. I spoke with Manuel yesterday, we are very close. We have spoken a lot in the past, we speak in the present and we will talk in the future. I try to learn from all the coaches. Because of their way of training it reminds me a lot of Carlo Ancelotti.

Jorgensen, Robert Sánchez Banquillo

Maresca also commented that he has not seen his players since the victory against Manchester United last Friday, since yesterday he could not be in training for a personal problem. Even so, he confirmed that the former Villarreal Filip Jorgesen will be the titular goalkeeper next Wednesday, instead of the Spanish international Robert Sánchez, since the Danish has played most of the competition. “It would not be fair to not play,” said the coach.
