The Portuguese coach Carlos Carvalhal, former Celta de Vigo, left the bench of the Sporting de Braga on Monday, the Portuguese club announced in a statement published on its website.
Carvalhal and the Braga are separated, according to the team's note, “by mutual agreement”, after a season in which they ended in fourth place in the Portuguese League.
“I get to the end of this journey with the mission sensation fulfilled and I thank all those who supported us throughout the season,” said the coach in the text published by El Braga.
For his part, the president of the club, António Salvador, justified the decision for being “necessary to initiate a new cycle” and thanked the coach “his work, his dedication to the project and his great collaboration” throughout the campaign.
Carlos Carvalhal, 59, returned at the beginning of the course to Braga, where the Spaniards Víctor Gómez, Gabri Martínez and Ismaël Gharbi play, and leaves the team of his hometown after letting out third place at the hands of Porto in recent days.

This has been the third time of Carvalhal as coach of the Braga, after 2006 and from 2020 to 2022, and is the one that has won the most victories on the bench of the Portuguese team, with 92 in 167 games.
He won a Cup of Portugal for the club he also represented as a footballer and in which he formed.
In addition to the Braga, Carvalhal directed teams such as Sporting in Portugal, the Sheffield Wednesday English and, in 2022/23, Celta de Vigo.
