“Three weeks ago I signed to get to the last day depending on us”

Claudio Giráldez, coach of Celta, considered unfair the defeat of his team against Rayo Vallecano, who arrived, he said, for “two errors for not being concentrated.”

“I feel proud of the team, I think the players have made a brutal effort and we have been close to winning. I liked my team in the second part and I think we have been superior,” he said.

Despite the disappointment he has been for Celtism, he cannot seal the return to Europe, the celestial coach said he was “calm” because they continue to depend on themselves.

“Not eight weeks ago, three weeks ago I would have signed to reach the last day depending on ourselves to be seventh. We must be encouraged because we have a brutal opportunity to play the classification in Getafe, before a rival who is already saved,” he recalled.

The celestial coach, however, warned that the clash against Bordalás will not be easy: “Here everyone is professional and we already know how expensive the Getafe sells each game.”

Finally, he asked to value what his team has done well during the season, as well as focus “only” on football because, in his opinion, the defeat comes by “two defensive mistakes”.

“I understand the disappointment of the people because we had it close, but hopefully we can celebrate it within six or seven days. It is normal to disappoint that today was the day, but it will be in the next game,” he said.
