Athletic has sent a series of indications to the fans to go to San Mamés on the occasion of the Athletic-Manchester United match that will be played this Thursday “before the forecast of a high influx of the public.” The previous European meeting played in the rojiblanco field, against the Rangers in the quarterfinals, registered the attendance record (52,114 spectators).
The doors will open an hour and a half before the clash corresponding to the first leg of semifinals begins. “It is strongly recommended that access is made as far as possible to avoid last minute agglomerations. In addition, the displacement is requested to be carried out preferably on foot or by public transport,” says Ibaigane.

Pedestrian access to San Mamés
For those who come walking or in public transport, the main entrance routes will be:
Poza graduate street: Upon reaching the esplanade of San Mamés, the direct access to it will be diverted minimally, so it must be turned to the left and travel a few meters down Briñas to access the esplanade.
Alameda de Urquijo: direct access enabled.
Simón Bolívar Street: linking with Zunzunegui and descending through the stairs of engineers or going down Sabino Arana Avenue and taking pools.
Juan Antonio Zunzunegui Avenue: going down the engineers.
Restricted accesses
It is important to keep in mind that Sabino Arana Avenue (between the Sacred Heart Square and Felipe Serrate Street) and Felipe Serrate Street (between Sabino Arana and Puerta 19 de San Mamés) will be reserved for the visiting fans, so it cannot be accessed through that area.
Those who arrive on the Basque Bridge will be able to reach the Sacred Heart Square on the side of the park, but they will not be able to climb through Sabino Arana. Instead, they must deviate by Gran Vía and continue through María Díaz de Haro, to take the street licensed Poza or Urquijo, as suited.
Access to entrance doors in the direction of the clock needles
The access to the stadium doors will follow the meaning of the clock needles. The doors 23, 24, 25 and 26, located in the front of the esplanade, will be directly accessible after entering by pools-briñas or urquijo.
Next, there are doors 1 to 13, which will be accessed in the usual way by the Paseo Rafael Moreno 'Pitxitxi'.
Finally, to avoid the accumulations of other games in the area after ticket offices (doors 7 to 13), the public that is directed at the doors between 14 and 20 will be recommended to descend the stairs that come down from the Pitxitxi promenade to the windy road and, from there, slightly surround the stadium until reaching the side where the doors 14 – 20 are located.
