The 2025 NFL Draft kicks off tonight – Thursday, April 24 – with the first round, which will see all 32 teams selecting their newest rookie for the 2025 season. Among the top 10 in this year’s projections is running back Ashton Jeanty out of Boise State.
Jeanty reveals favorite NFL team
Jeanty was one of the finalists for the Heisman Trophy last year after finishing the season with 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns. The 5′8″, 211-pound back is the clear best in this year’s draft class.
He’d fit in with several NFL teams’ offensive schemes, and while many experts project he’ll be taken seventh overall by the New York Jetshe could easily fit in well with the Las Vegas Raiders (6), Chicago Bears (10), San Francisco 49ers (11), Dallas Cowboys (12), or Denver Broncos (20), though he’s sure to be selected higher than 20.
Unfortunately, none of those teams are Jeanty’s favorite.
In November last year, Jeanty revealed that he’s a fan of the Miami Dolphinswho have the 13th overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Jeanty is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. The Jaguars, who have the fifth overall pick in the draft, could also be a potential option for Jeanty, which would send him back to his roots.

Jeanty played high school football in Italy in a military town near Naples, where he was initially at the quarterback position before moving to running back after just two games. He told his parents he wanted to move back to the U.S. to finish out his high school career and eventually did so, playing for Lone Star High School in Frisco, Texas before committing to Boise State in 2022.
